Germany has made significant progress towards reducing its exposure to imports of Russian gas, oil and coal since Russia invaded Ukraine, Economy Minister Robert Habeck said on Friday.

Germany is trying to wean itself off Russian energy in the wake of the Ukraine crisis, but this is an uphill battle after decades of relying on Russia for energy supplies.

Habeck said imports of Russian oil now accounted for 25% of German imports, down from 35% before the invasion, and gas imports have been cut to 40% from 55%. Russian hard coal imports were down to 25% from 50% before the invasion.

“The first important milestones to free us from the grip of Russian imports have been achieved,” he said.

How appropriate since American Leftists are wannabe Europeans.....or at least they desperately want a pat on the head from Euro Elites and to be told they are part of the elitist club. Its pathetic really the way they ape elite Leftist Europeans in all things. Ever notice these are the same people that hate American culture and all things American?

Its the exact same dynamic in the UK. The Leftist elites there also hate their own native culture and desperately desire to be continentals.

Germany and Poland have considerable reserves, but then it is a long way down to Czech Republic and Hungary as the next EU countries.

I don’t think that Germany and Poland have a 400 year supply at production rates that would replace gas and crude oil energy for the whole EU.

Note that one-time coal powerhouse UK is way down the list. Besides which their North Sea oil and gas is running out. Coincidently, the UK is one of the most vocal about greenhouse gases, having used up all theirs.

You nailed.
They are Euro wannabes.
They conveniently forget how the US has developed much better systems and ideas on just about every topic in the world .
And then they turn around and espouse western culture loathing ideas.

They are really messed up people .

What’s hilarious is that the mouthbreathers supporting the Uke “current thing” don’t understand that Ukraine won’t have a pot to p*ss in after the energy flows across its territory stop...
