We will likely learn that the system isn’t as good as we thought, which is good to know.

That's probably correct, but will that be what we hear? This war is a boom to the US military-industrial complex. If they can find any reason to pimp their latest weapon systems they will use it. One of their favorite tactics is the "we are behind" argument, which is often rebranded as "we are in danger and you need to be scared". When America turns on the news it is nearly 7/24 war porn mixed with fear porn.

I don't trust a damn think the say.

We aren’t beating anyone and Russia isn’t our enemy. We just lost a 20 year war to a bunch of goat herders. If anyone is going to get their asses kicked its our totally cucked military. I’m positive the traitors in our government have been selling our stealth technology to China and Russia for over 20 years. Mom of our fancy stuff will work against a modern military and also I doubt our nukes even work with the government we have.

Just as they probably have ours.

Or rather, the Chinese knock off.

You always need to be skeptical when the government is involved.

But, we do have some serious strategic deficits when it comes to our Indo-Pacific China threat. And we are behind in hypersonic defensive systems and hypersonic weapons.

The A2/AD Anti Access and Area Denial threat of potential sub killing ballistic missiles is a potential threat, that pushes our carriers out to distances putting F35s out of effective fighting range.

This Russian Ukriane antic is killing any resemblance of a Peace Dividend. Military spending is going up and even the Leftist Dems agreed to an increase.

Yes, “reportedly.” It’s in the headline. It’s in the article.

There are some things such as this that I like making known, particularly since we're not at war with Russia.

We're basically telegraphing to other nations not to buy a decade old anti-electronics weapon system Russia tries to sell them because we obviously will know how to counter it and it'll be useless against any weapons we sell to your neighbors. This gives Russia a little less edge in foreign military relations.

At best, its only 1/2 of the system if its is still intact and not looted.

The module captured is only the command module, not the radar and jammers. What they learn from that will likely not be how to counter it, but how to attack the command system.

And that’s only if it actually intact and not destroyed - there was a report that it had hole in the top (not in the image).

I agree with your assessment that it may not reveal much usable information. But the reality of what we know is often different from what we tell potential enemy nations. I still think it’s appropriate to every now and then telegraph “we’ve got the real goods, not that crap them Rushyuns try to sell you. Don’t get too cocky thinking Rushyun weapons will let you tear up our interests like a covid in a China shop”.

This made me think of the 1942 Bruneval Raid.

Nah, stolen by some guy with a tractor.

War is not funny by any means, but that video of the farmer driving away with a Russian tank hooked to his tractor, and the tanker running after him like someone who just got carjacked, was about as funny anything I’ve seen in a while. You’d have expected that in “1941” or similar movies.

Wow, what a screw-up.

The top line should have been:

“Hilariously, Russia just lost it in the Ukrainian forest. It wasn’t really captured. More like abandoned.”

"But Russia has to assume, everything they lose in Ukraine will end up in the US being researched."

Just as it can be assumed every hi-tech, classified piece of equipment the "Defense" Department left behind in Afghanistan will end up in China.
