A Russian Navy amphibious landing ship was destroyed while docked in the Russian-occupied port of Berdyansk in southern Ukraine on Thursday, the Ukrainian navy said hours after photos emerged of a large ship engulfed in flames in the region.

Ships are very vulnerable while they are taking on fuel (bunkering).
I’d guess these ships were reinforcing the Mariupol offensive.
Every one that is taken off the table also reduces what might be available to go against Odessa later.
Looks like a very successful raid.
I think the Russians had 9 of the larger Repuucha class landing ships, and 3 of the small are Alligator class ships in the Black Sea, before this battle.
The one that was sunk today was identified as one of the Alligator class ships. It looks like the other 2 that fled the port were Ropucha class ships. One of them looked like it was on fire while fleeing.
Looks a little like the SS Savannah, the first nuclear powered civilian ship...
