“ Borderlands of what? Of the country that they were for all of their history until the foreign demon Lenin declared that they were a separate country with standard Marxist divide and conquer techniques.”
History is not your strong suit, is it?
then you know how much they despise the Russians.
If everything is going asnplanned by Putin, then it was a stupid plan. Ukraine has a population of 44 million and its government has not been replaced by a puppet ruler and become a client state. If Russia has already won militarily, Russian troops would not be dying, boats and vehicles not be blown up, and the enemy would have surrendered in droves.
More like Vietnam, Afghanistan, French Indochina, Libya and less like Crimea, Panama, Georgia, post ww2 Hungary, Poland, Czechoslovakia, imho.
Not that many years ago, Freepers adored George W. Bush and John Bolton. Today? Well, not so much.
But today, we’re supposed to trust CIA and State Department experts. tomorrow we’re supposed to distrust CIA and State Department experts.
Isn’t it true that we have always been at war with Eurasia? It’s hard to keep it all straight sometimes, isn’t it?
Ukraine now has a population of forty million.
Four million have fled to other countries.
Slava Ukraine!
I was attempting humor by quoting the fictitious USAF Chief of Staff General Turgidson (played by George C. Scott) in the movie Dr. Strangelove.
The original commenter said that that it was a tough job to have to prevent even a single Russian nuclear bomber from a large swarm of bombers from somehow getting through our defenses.
I reminded me of the hilarious Strangelove scene I linked to. There, both the Russians AND the Americans had to cooperate to prevent even a single US B-52 bomber, from a squadron sent by a rogue general to bomb the Commies, from getting through. A single nuclear bomb hit on the Soviets would trigger ac“doomsday” machine that would destroy all life on earth.
The Americans told the Russians the flight plan of each plane in the squadron to help them shot them down.
Some of the planes were recalled, some were shot down, but one was only damaged.
The US President asked the USAF chief if there was any chance that single plane could get through, triggering the General’s hilarious rant about the Russkies lacking know-how and HELL YES!, the pilot using Yankee ingenuity had a good chance to get through. This was not what the President was hoping to hear.
The American pilot’s plane was rapidly leaking fuel, and as trained chose the nearest target of opportunity (of course undefended because it was not on his flight plan) to successfully dropped his bomb. This unfortunately triggered the doomsday machine ending all life on earth.
I thought it was apropos to the commenter’s statement how hard it was to have a 100% success rate defending against incoming manned bombers. And very funny too!
Foreign demon Lenin (as you elegantly described him) is still laying in his mausoleum on the Red Square in Moscow, revered by the inhabitants of Russia. The line to visit this sacred place never disappears...
Borders and countries come and go during the course of the history. It can’t be a reason to justify throwing bombs on the heads of other people and destroying the livelihood of those who survived this “mostly peaceful” “military operation”.
I believe it was actually CaptainCarrollton who labeled Lenin a “foreign demon,” but I don’t disagree with the description. Except that he was a “domestic demon” within Russia!
Mac_truck - you say you support America, yet your posts show the opposite.
In fact you post pictures from Russian national websites that distort and preach hatred against the USA.
you still want to keep saying you support America even after your posts show the opposite?
