Another thing I’ve read about is the thieves drive a van or truck with a false bottom in the vehicle which is loaded with large containers, they park over the top of where fuel trucks deliver gas to store, remove the top of the tank and pump the gas out of the ground tank into the tanks in the van or truck, emptying the tank as they pump.
I’ve seen reports on that. I suspect you’ll see the area around the tank fill ports blocked off at most stations for this very reason. Liquid gold.
