It was an open question, in the days leading up to Russia’s wider invasion of Ukraine on the night of Feb. 23, whether Ukraine’s small force of Turkish-made TB-2 drones even would survive the first volley of Russian missiles.
Nearly a month later, it’s apparent the TB-2s not only survived—they quickly flew into action. Today Ukraine’s killer-drone fleet arguably is its most potent force.
TB-2s belonging to the Ukrainian air force and navy in recent days have dismantled whole swathes of Russia’s front-line air-defense network and now relentlessly are smashing Russian tanks and supply trucks.

Cool!
If that’s the case, then the next technology will be signal jamming for drones.
Russia never invested in defense but in more offense with the theory of overwhelming firepower
Armor without layers of escort is target practice.
And after that (already doing it), is full automatous
The only trick is it's impossible. You need to keep all the drones from attacking the same target. They need to communicate among themselves.
I’m sure a ‘target destroyed’ algorithm can be done by sensors alone.
You’re correct man in the loop is essential for these kind of operations.
I’m all for a drones war.
Drones vs drones.
No people wanted. Just drones. Drones programmed to kill other drones.
The movie will be coming out soon. War Of The Drones.
No people killed. Just drones.
May the best drones win.
We are not there yet even here in the US.
““It seems that Turkish drones’ datalink complexes are staying below the electromagnetic jamming envelopes of principal Russian electronic warfare systems like Krasukha-4, which is optimised to jam onboard systems of manned aircraft,” he said.”

The Russians still have a lot of air power and artillery though. So they pack a lot of firepower even if they are taking tremendous casualties as usual.
They have simliar Russian equipment too and a significant quantity of Javelins provided by Trump.
Patton proved if you’re running armor in urban areas or concealing terrain, you need aggressive infantry patrolling and combat engineers for mine clearing.
The challenge is neither of those jobs is much fun.
They have been using their air power sparingly here from what is being reported. They have not fully unleashed their artillery yet either. When and if they do there will be mass carnage. They are being very selective in their artillery Ops now, more surgical.
From what we have seen so far the Russians should have invested heavily in maintaining their vehicles and equipment.
Putin has given them the money but it appears that the generals and everyone has sold a lot of it on the black market or reallocated the funds. The purges in the Russian military are going to be legion after this action due to “corruption”.
It is difficult to tell what is going on over there given media spin on both sides, but it is fair to say that the Russian military has under-performed expectations even if they will likely win the conflict due to sheer size and brute force.
The problem for Putin is that occupying a resistant nation is often more difficult than “sweeping the map” and this is especially true of your power base (the oligarchs) does not support it nor do you people (this war is NOT popular in Russia).
Logistics is critical for modern warfare and the Russians appear to suck at it. They also still appear to be very rigid tactically with commanders afraid to alter plans to achieve objectives AND if they do succeed it changes their resupply points meaning their gas, food, and ammo is elsewhere if it even made it.
I am not impressed, but I am even more worried than if Russia had simply swept through the country like a hot knife through butter. These problems (internal and tactically) make Putin even more dangerous because he has effectively gambled everything on what he believed to be an easy victory with popular support in both nations.
The longer this continues the more dangerous it becomes for everyone.
Its amazing that Russian air defense against drones is so awful.
And with credible reports that Turkey has sent fresh shipments of drones, it’s possible Kyiv’s drone campaign is just beginning.
