I fled LI 30 years ago for the Finger Lakes region-—I still kick myself for not leaving NY all together. I grew up in Queens...a nice, solid blue-collar, middle class neighborhood, then moved to western Suffolk. I occasionally visit family on LI, the old Queens neighborhood is now a $hithole. The western Suffolk neighborhood is halfway there.
Diversity is our strength....keep saying that and maybe you will feel better. Sorry for your plight up there in NY.
Want a real awakening. I called the IRS today to try to find out where is my refund from my form I sent in 7 weeks ago. After using the useless on line tracker which just says they have no info to provide, meaning they have no record of receipt, I tried to track down a number to reach a real person. There were at least 4 choices on the menu for tracking down various give away checks. None for my plight and never reached a real person. Ya see, the workers are now the slaves to the gimme dats.
