Having said that, is the photo in post 8 actually from this crash?
Re: Photo in Comment #8 - two tail engines
Does any model of the 737 have two tail engines?
According to Wiki photos, all 737 models have two wing engines.

As I speculated above, not a photo of this crash.
None do. Thats a DC-9 or similar model.

That ain’t a 737.

Read #11.
Incorrect crash.
Yes, all versions of 737’s have wing mounted engines.
This is what I found after a couple of google searches.
The Boeing 737 MAX family of aircraft is produced in three variants - 737 MAX 7, 737 MAX 8 and 737 MAX 9.
"The aircraft was delivered to China Eastern from Boeing in June 2015 and had been flying for over six years."
I went to Boeing.com and searched for "737-89P" and could not find any information.
Perhaps that is part of the 737-800 family?
Wrong picture.
This is not a 737.
Stop posting nonsense
That pic can’t be from the crash unless they got the aircraft type wrong. ALL 737 aircraft have the engines under the wings... the plane pictured has the engines near the tail.
Spring Equinox sacrifice.
"The flight — believed to be the MU5735 — left Kunming at 1:11 p.m. local time (1:11 a.m. ET) and was due to arrive at its destination in under two hours, according to information on FlightRadar24. The flight-tracking website shows that the Boeing 737-89P plane began to descend sharply after 2:20 p.m. local time."
According to Boeing (via CNBC)...
"The Boeing 737 that crashed Monday in China was not a Max model, according to the company."
Boeing shares are down 7% as I write this at 3:40 AM PST.
Yup. Wrong picture.
Thank you for your assistence.
Got it.
BTW to point out photo errors or what people think are is fine - to add a blisterd remark isn’t. All freepers know I do the best I know how to and have for several years in the photos I post and further that I don’t mind in fact encourage correction if they’re wrong. So please just save your added remarks and we’ll do fine.
FReepers are also supposed to check facts and sources before posting. But FR is becoming more and more disinformation over the years due to a lack of dilligence on behalf of posters.
