It's a nasty battle but “war crime”?

Time will tell, I suppose. As for remembered for centuries — doubtful. Especially if it is only the first city destroyed in WWIII.

Whoever wins the war in the long run will write the history.

Short term, Mariupol will go down fighting, it appears. What Pooty will do with a destroyed city and (I’m guessing) at least 200k prisoner-refugees I don’t know. Partisan type attacks will probably go on for some time.

Reading into the Russians’ demand, it doesn’t sound like they have supplies to feed and water the city population.
