By not at least making a nod to remaining within accepted international law, Russia loses any leverage they might have had by shouting "Nazi, Nazi, Nazi", and rightfully so. They are now an international pariah.
And if they do that to cities it will be the biggest pyrrhic victory in modern times. Putin will be a pariah to a majority in his country.

And I suspect he did go to the UN, and got the same F-off treatment as he got from the US, the EU, and NATO.
Perhaps the next time he wants to discuss something, he’ll be taken a bit more seriously.
