Lagging behind Russia in developing hypersonic weapons, the U.S. Navy is rushing to field its first, with installation on a warship starting as soon as late next year.
The United States is in a race with Russia and China to develop these weapons, which travel at speeds akin to ballistic missiles but are difficult to shoot down because of their maneuverability.
The Russian military says it already deployed hypersonic missiles and claimed Saturday to have used one for the first time in combat against a target in Ukraine. The Pentagon couldn’t confirm a hypersonic weapon was used in the attack.

“Lagging behind Russia in developing hypersonic weapons, the U.S. Navy is rushing to field its first, with installation on a warship starting as soon as late next year.”
Only took AP 5 YEARS to get on this story as the Washington Times and other (discredited, I guess) outlets have been reporting non-stop on it.
I guess we’re now ‘leading from beyond’ on new weapons systems. Sure hope the ‘peace dividend’ was worth it for everyone.
Gonna kill you 17 minutes before you know you’re dead.
False publication, as the video had been posted at the end of February this year.

“The Pentagon couldn’t confirm a hypersonic weapon was used in the attack.”
The word ‘couldn’t’ should be ‘wouldn’t’. The missile tracking capabilities of the US can easily identify a hypersonic missile.
The US has been working on hypersonic tech for a lot longer than China or Russia. I would be a lot more surprised if we weren’t multiple steps ahead of them than will ever be acknowledged (SR-71 ring a bell?). I’m not even going to speculate on a weapon or countermeasure we have in a back pocket. Communist countries have never matched the innovation of a competition based society.
The Internet is full of military analysts posting from their mom’s basement.

Senior US official confirms Russia did fire more than one hypersonic missile Saturday based on speeds observed but US officials do not view this as an escalation toward possible use of nuclear weapons. Perhaps could be indication Putin is running out of precision guided missiles.

One can hope, but after decades of replacement of cold-warrior generals and research managers with ones only interested in wokenss and "social justice", I doubt that US R&D is anywhere near as capable as it used to be. BTW..I very sincerely hope that I am badly wrong...
From what I saw in the video, this looked nothing like a missile.
The object came straight down more in line with a bomb.
Usually a missile shot from a jet hits at an angle.
This came straight down...
But who knows...
The Sprint and Phoenix missile systems were decades ahead of their time.
I’m sure FR’s neocon Chair Force will be along shortly to debunk that report.
