Millionaire businessman Willie Wilson plans to give away $1 million worth of gas in Chicago as the White House recently confirmed prices would keep rising.

Wilson said Friday he would donate the gas on Thursday at 50 locations in the city and Cook County, ABC 7 reported.

“Starting at 7 a.m., each vehicle at those gas stations will get $50 in gas until $1 million is exhausted, as residents struggle with high gas prices,” the outlet said.

Gas prices are the least of the problems that Chicagoans face.

$1M in Trump-priced gas, or in Biden-priced gas?

Chicagoans are not known for behaving particularly well in lines. So I expect a bit of drama to occur as the day goes on.

Good point. $50 per customer, 50 stores, that's 400 people per store to get the $50 in gas.

I imaging the lines will get a bit unruly towards the end of the day.

Car-jackings in the city are up by a factor of maybe three or four in the past year or two; just think of a line of cars at a city filling station as something of a showroom for the folks in that line of work.

Either way, the supply of the gasoline purchased with the million dollars and made available to the harried customers will disappear like a sneeze in a hurricane.

There seems to be no way to talk sense into the current occupants of the Oval Office, and not much of an opportunity to just give them a good solid fetch upside the head.

Adolescents are so much more reasonable. These people are maniacal and running in a frenzy to slam all the doors and gates shut against ANY relief of the problem.

Still not going to buy any of your battery-powered grid-charged vehicles. If they cannot be built with some kind of on-board charging system independent of the grid, what good are they?

Let’s see - That’s 200,000 gallons at $5.00/gallon. 10 gallons per car for 20,000 cars. That’ll last about a week. But it’s nice of him.
