Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called for direct talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday as Russian forces pushed deeper into the beleaguered southern port city of Mariupol, with heavy street battles shutting down a major steel plant and hampering rescue efforts.
Military skirmishes erupted across the heart of Mariupol’s city center, obstructing local efforts to rescue hundreds of people believed to be trapped in the basement of a theater struck by a bomb or missile Wednesday. Russia denied bombing the theater, which was being used to protect children.
"The city is leveled to the ground," a member of the Azov regiment that is defending Mariupol said Saturday on Telegram as tanks moved in and Russian forces continued to strike from the air.

Then the troops from the sea come in and go up west of Kiev. This will be over in a couple of weeks.

Why does Zelensky have to call for talks? Why can’t he contact Putin directly and sue for peace. Zelensky is the president of his country, does he have to ask for permission as does ours?

True, Vlad promised to eradicate the Neo Nazi’s, and leveling their home town is one step closer to accomplishing his stated intentions. No NATO, eradicating Azov and Neo Nazi’s, then finally the Seperatists get their independence from the Ukies.
Zelensky gets rid of those rebellious provinces, Vlad pulls out.

How about you hope they negotiate and the war ends? Fact is the Ukies are done, finished, without any full scale NATO intervention. Zelensky should have negotiated weeks ago. Instead, he is promoting war, possibly a world war.
Ukraine is already conceding that they’ve “temporarily” lost all access to the Black Sea.
Azov nazis defend the city. Nazis defended Berlin too. How’d that work out.
I hope every Azov Nazi dies.
