Maybe focus instead on securing as many crossing over the Dnieper as possible while taking possession of as much infrastructure (dams, power plants, farms) as possible? Cut off the food, water, and utilities and let the million riflemen of the Ukrainian army starve in the dark?
But they didnt deploy a 1,000,000 man army. They went in with 200,000 at most. A totally inadequate force for the length of front they have ended up with.
They seem to have difficulties actually mobilizing that 1,000,000, probably because most of them are conscripts doing their 1-year enlistments.
Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you meant the Russian army. I agree with you. At this time I think the Ukrainians outnumber those Russians actually in-country, maybe by a lot.
