We live in a Ponderosa Pine forest that is bone dry by July. The month-long fireworks by amateurs scare me to death. The fireworks set off over the many lakes around us are fine, but fireworks have no place in dry forests.

Ponderosa Pine forests are defined by frequent fires. Preventing them only exposes the trees to higher temperature fires at further intervals that damage them worse than frequent fires.
