The European Union Aviation Safety Agency said GPS systems near Russia and Ukraine are being impacted by an unidentified source.
Disruptions have occurred in places around the Black Sea, eastern Finland, and the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea.
The warning comes as sanctions block parts, maintenance, and support to Russian airlines.
A European aviation safety regulator on Thursday issued a warning that an unidentified source is disrupting GPS systems near Russia and Ukraine.
"In the current context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the issue of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) jamming and/or possible spoofing has intensified in geographical areas surrounding the conflict zone and other areas," the European Union Aviation Safety Agency said in a bulletin.

Gee...who knew GPS could be jammed? [/s]
That could explain why Bugs ended up in Omaha rather than Albuquerque....
China.
No mention of which systems are affected: our GPS, Russian GLONASS or European Galileo or all three and whether it is from jamming or possibly Russia disturbing their own internal accuracy near their borders
Almost missed the carrot festival.
Therein.
LOL, so much for those ‘feared’ drones. Next step is blinding the spy satellites.
Shucks, who could that be?
I am surprised this is just now happening.
People smart enough to do it ... AND smart enough to STFU about it! I can think of only one nation that smart
Our idiotic country?
It’s good to have this intel now rather than later...
Now find the source, figure it out, and start working on mediation.
What is more, even IF they did something like this, they'd be up in their trees like a bunch of howler monkeys .... bragging about it!
After all-this IS the ‘President’ who routinely shows his hand to all and sundry, (including our enemies) no matter how sensitive the information is.
Lists of companies not to hack, lists of war materiel sent to Ukraine...etc
I would be almost certain that the USAF knows who is doing it, and what signals are being jammed. The Russians would want to jam the drone control signals as well. The Iraqis jammed GPS for a couple of days, back in 2003, but military GPS is more robust, and the jamming may not have been effective. In any event, the DoD never publicly released any information, which would have told the Russians how effective it was. Since 2003 military GPS has become even more robust. The Iraqi jammers were silenced.
Certainly, if it's the Russians, it's an intel windfall for the U.S. The American EW types are smart enough to keep their collective mouths shut, and - to paraphrase Yogi Berra - observe a lot by just watching.
Color me shocked. /s
