I’m advocating treating Poland’s airworthy MiGs as expendable.
30 Polish MiGs, sent one at a time, can create havoc. (”Havoc”, the name of one of America’s most effective WWII medium bombers, BTW).
Ukraine pilots would get audible electronic warnings in time to avoid (or bail out) from missile assault. With any luck, the Ukraine pilot can be returned to service.
The MiG would be replaced to Poland by F-16s or better.
That’s assuming Ukraine has enough qualified pilots to put the additional Migs to use.
That’s assuming they have the spare parts to keep the aging plane flying.
That’s assuming they have the fuel necessary to keep them flying.
That’s assuming they can evade the Russian Air Defenses.
Did you wonder why Russia has not pummeled Ukraine into submission with their Air Force and why Ukraine has done more damage with their Air Force ??
We had one report after another of the 40-mile long Russian Convoy outside of Kiev, what hasn’t Ukraine attacked it repeatedly ??
Neither side is attacking relentlessly because the Air Defenses on both sides are sufficient enough to discourage a major air campaign.
