House Republicans are calling for President Joe Biden to provide military aircraft to Ukraine, so they can establish a no-fly zone on their own. In a press conference after hearing from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky Wednesday, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said their is bipartisan support for sending fighter jets to Ukraine.
McCarthy and Republicans also praised Zelensky and the Ukrainian people while highlighting their resistance to Russian aggression. GOP lawmakers called for Biden to impose more sanctions on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s regime.
House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) also spoke, calling on Biden to step up and take away Putins leverage on energy while suggesting he should open the nation’s oil reserves.

The planes in question are MiGs, which the Ukrainians already know how to use.
No, I’m just watching one Russian general after another go home from Ukraine in bags. Brandon’s weakness has brought us to this point. None of this should have ever happened but here we are. Peace is achieved through weakness.
Excellent, these Republicans should all be given the Honor of mandatory occupancy of the second seat in said fighter jets.

Can anyone around here remember the last time that the Neo-Cons and chickenhawks didn’t prevail in foreign policy? And before you say “Afghanistan:, don’t forget we were there for 19 years. And before you say that “the Neo-Cons want actual war with Russia”, well...they just might get it at this rate.
Do any of the Ukrainian pilots have any time in F-16s/22s/35s? Or are we providing them MiGs?
I did mine in my trusty jump boots.
And who is going to provide the ordnance to load on this weapons? Does Ukraine have sufficient ordnance ready to go? To match their clearly inadequate supply of aircraft to deliver it?
OR, is this just pointless political grandstanding about a subject that has no bearing on reality or likely outcomes?
“I’ll stick with Door #2, Monte.”
How times have changed. In 1940 and 1941 the United States supplied Britain — which was at war with Germany — with a whole lot of military aircraft, and we weren’t at war with anyone until three weeks before the end of 1941.
You can always vote Communist, sounds like that would suit you just fine.
I am sticking with Republicans who support freedom fighters in Ukraine.
Dude, the Russians are not denying this stuff. They’re having public funerals for their dead troops.
Time will tell. Let’s revisit this in a couple of weeks.
Who’s to say the Poles (etc.) have not provided some off the record training?
How is this “direct involvement” more so than sending in thousands of modern anti-tank and ManPad missiles? It is “added involvement”, but, so would be, say, sending higher altitude capable SAM batteries. Which we absolutely should also do, and should have done months ago.
their sons and dtr first, and they themselves can ride in the back....
Concentrate on my collapsing country you s@#theads! Don’t help the Democrats protect their money laundering operations in Ukraine! I am disgusted. Never again will a Republican get my vote after today.
They don’t care a bit about our borders, our cultural rot, our unsustainable spending and soon to be cratering of the petrodollar worldwide.
I will say no more because I don’t want my comment deleted.
So angry.
Morons don’t seem to understand that Biden has already castrated our military.
Castrated is such an incredible description of our Biden military.
Thank you. I thought it was fitting.
I agree with all your points.
The country is in crisis on many fronts and the the Republican Party is doing nothing about it.
Who is going to fly them into Ukraine? Where would they take off from within Ukraine given that most airfields have been destroyed?
How do they propose to get our jets into the war without making the USA a participant in it?
