State Rep. Steve Carra announced today he will seek reelection to the state house, changing his earlier plans to run for U.S. Congress.
“It’s a redistricting year so these things happen,” Carra told MLive on Tuesday, March 15. “I no longer live in the congressional district as it’s redrawn, because of that President Trump has decided to endorse Bill Huizenga in the newly formed fourth congressional district.”
Carra, R-Three Rivers, said he supports Huizenga over Upton.
Carra said he still has a good relationship with Trump.

Unless he decides to retire since he's most likely going to lose.
The only good thing about Fred Upton is his Niece.

Heard today (Battle Creek) on local radio that when Trump endorsed Huizenga it was lights out for backstabbing RINO Upton according to a couple polls.
Although this is not his district I hear Huizenga commercials all the time, what a breathe of fresh air! I suspect that here in the new 3rd District that the RINO Meijer is in deep do-do too.
I’ll vote against him if I have to write myself in, much of his popularity was just his rich famous family name - many voters were duped. Also much of this area was formerly Justin Amash who also went turncoat when Trump was elected, the public is in no mood.
Also to consider is the state Executive Branch might see the political guillotine with WHitler and her band of commies. Just as the Executive wing took over 4 years ago in a rout they could just as easy be turned out.
I’m of the opinion that there was so much blue four years ago is because that conservative voters outstate stayed home, rather than voting for the lesser of evils, we’re done.
If you take Detroit off the map it’s a pretty red state, we shall see. It is said that Trump lost this state by only 10,000 votes - and oh yes without that 2:00 am vote dump in downtown Detroit (where the rats barricaded the windows) the Don would have won this state again.

I don’t blame conservative voters for staying home. I blame the people who keep recruiting moderate (RINO) candidates.
Just heard a report that Upton tested positive for COVID. The timing of it is somewhat uncanny!
