Looks like he hit a mine. Blown up not down and out.

The game is far from over.

I heard Kyiv is getting a hell of a shellacking from the down and out unsupplied Russian artillery.

Tanks are terrific, but artillery is awesome.

Good place to put a mine. Right after the ditch.

The structures and terrain in that video certainly look like what is seen in a contested battle zone.

Or maybe an IED? That was a big honkin blast.

Man, look at the pieces flying. Some kind of wheel rolled off to our left of the former tank.

“Looks like he hit a mine.”
More like an IED. That had a lot more punch than a mere anti-tank mine.

If you believe the Daily Mail, the Ukrainians will soon be marching on Moscow.
To: StayoutdaBushesWay
It was a mine. You need aggressive infantry patrols and minesweeping combat engineers in front of tanks. And yeah those aren't fun jobs.

“I heard Kyiv is getting a hell of a shellacking from the down and out unsupplied Russian artillery.”
And Russian arty has been getting a shellacking from absurdly accurate Ukrainian counter-artillery fire. They’re using $100 drones and Garmin GPS with some ridiculously great results.

That's what it looked like to me. It crawled out of the ditch, and as it's left track came down on the ground - boom. I didn't see a missile trail and there was no flash of a kinetic round impacting. Looked like a well placed mine. The Russians, just grinding along on the obvious path.
It is similar to at least two of the chopper shoot-downs I've seen. Russian pilots just cruising along like they don't expect any enemy action. Ditto at least one ground unit I saw a video of - from the Russians. Their guys ran across each others' line of fire, they congregated out in the open rather than taking cover just a few yards away.
It's like the Russians aren't taking the Ukrainians seriously, and they're paying the price.

Russia has over 12,500 tanks. I am sure they afford to lose a few.

What is the real situation ?

“Or maybe an IED?”
I hope so… an insurgency will bleed the Russians in ways they can’t add up.
