AP’S ASSESSMENT: False. Social media users are misrepresenting a government spending bill that increased funding for legislative office budgets, not lawmakers’ salaries. Members of Congress use these budgets to hire and pay staff, and to manage other official expenses. Annual salaries for members of the House and Senate will remain the same this year, as they have since 2009.

Hey, give them a break. Congre$$ needs the extra dough. Like AOC driving a $60k Tesla and maybe having to pay off her student loans. Can’t expect her to do that on a mere $174K a year.
Well, just I read that they did. Now it appears they did not, and that they have not had a pay raise since 2009.

I actually asked admin to take my column down but they never did. I really can’t figure out if they did or they did not give themselves raises and being it was so muddled I asked them to remove the column.
But didn’t happen.
