War could be over by May, says Ukrainian presidential adviser

March 15, 2022

March 15 (Reuters) - The war in Ukraine is likely to be over by early May when Russia runs out of resources to attack its neighbour, Oleksiy Arestovich, an adviser to the Ukrainian president's chief of staff, said late on Monday.

Talks between Kyiv and Moscow - in which Arestovich is not personally involved - have so far produced very few results other than several humanitarian corridors out of besieged Ukrainian cities.

In a video published by several Ukrainian media, Arestovich said the exact timing would depend on how much resources the Kremlin was willing to commit to the campaign.

"I think that no later than in May, early May, we should have a peace agreement, maybe much earlier, we will see, I am talking about the latest possible dates," Arestovich said.

In order for this strategy to work, you should be willing to risk wholesale destruction of your country because that is what Russians will do before their supplies run out.

It has happened before in history. This is how a small country beat a big country.

What would happen if Zelensky goes off-script and agrees to neutrality? Would all the Western sanctions go on indefinitely?

Zelensky is writing his own script so I don't know what "off-script even means in this context. And the Ukrainians are willing to agree to neutrality as long as it includes security guarantees. So far, Russia has rejected that.

Would all the Western sanctions go on indefinitely?

Hopefully, yes. In part because that will western nations will be forced to increase their own production of fossil fuels to make up for whatever is lost from Russia. And also to send a message to any other would-be imperialists out there that invading your neighbors will.meam economic ruin.

It’s BS this war was over the first two days when russia reached kiev when you are fighting in your own bedroom the war is over. It is sensitivities keeping russia from just ending it. Ukraine elected fools to run their country, its SAD.

It astounds me they believe they can hold out that long in order to degrade the Russian forces.

The Russians are close to Kiev.

But I wouldn’t know because never in my life have I seen the “media” so devoid of actual military reporting.

No a war isn’t over when the enemy reaches your city. Not if your city fights.

The Ukrainian cities already are devastated and they probably figure the military might as well stay in place and fight.

We get no detailed military info from any source left or right, so I couldn’t tell you if the city’s going to fall tomorrow, or if the defense is so well laid in that the Russian army can’t afford the losses.

Supposedly calling for Syrian fighters is a sign of desperation and that Putin doesn’t want the Russian losses.

Then there is another talk about Russians running out of supplies in less than two weeks.

Is this an opening bid by Ukrainians? That is, “We can make all of you starve to death. But if you play nice, we could be lenient.”

Nope…

Once you are surrounded you are now dealing with a siege. At that point it’s a war of attrition….

Sure you can resist and engage in asymmetrical actions, but end game never changes.

Once you are under siege, the only way it ends is those under siege surrender, or they hold out long enough for reinforcements to arrive to break the siege…

There are no reinforcements coming for UKraine in this war…. The cities can resist, but lack of supplies, food, medical care, sanitation… they can’t win.

Idea that Russia is going to run out of ammo is comical.

Those under siege usually have their friends behind enemies doing the siege. If those friends successfully cut supply line, the siege can fail.

I’m hearing Russia has achieved most of its objectives. Now they are engaged in some urban fighting ferreting out pockets of the Khazarian mafia in the cities.

...some urban fighting...

You mean missile strikes and artillery bombardment?
Doesn't sound like urban fighting.

Russians are fighting some crime syndicate members?

Its not just a crime syndicate. Its the enforcement arm of the EU/NATO/NWO criminal operation that has a stranglehold on the Ukraine.

You mistakenly have been led to believe by the MSM a mouthpiece of the NWO that Russia is invading the Ukraine to capture and occupy the country as part of putting the old Soviet Union back together.

That’s not what is happening.
