“She’s Rob Portman’s preferred successor”
And that’s enough to make me vomit. I wouldn’t vote for her on a bad bet.
“Gibbons or Mandel are preferable”
Mandel is a little sketchy, don’t know much about Gibbons, but Rand Paul endorses him. That carries weight with me.
Mandel has been the most “pro-Trump” of all, but you’re right, he has a corrupt background in that he used his campaign money to fund his hottie. (I don’t know if this was before or after his divorce).
Vance has said a lot of Trumpy things, but three years ago he was a solid neverTrumper.
Don’t know anything about Gibbons, which is a bad thing. It means I’ve never seen references of him supporting MAGA or any MAGA policies before.
I just moved to Ohio, and I registered to vote last week.
Assuming nothing changes between now and primary day, I’m going to vote for Gibbons. I’d rank Mandel second. The other three major candidates are unacceptable to me: Timken, because she’s from old money (Timken Ball Bearings) and would be a Rockefeller/Clifford Case/Charles Mathias type RINO; JD Vance (appears to be an untrustworthy slimeball); and Matt Dolan (father owns the Cleveland baseball team and gutlessly renamed the team the Guardians, probably to assuage Progressive Insurance which is a team sponsor), talks tough but went to the same college as Ed Markey.
I also want to vote against lockdown Mike DeWine; I’ll probably vote for Jim Renacci, but I am open to others.
I’m not sure what Congressional district I’m in. Currently, I’m represented by Bob Gibbs; I saw a map that shows I’m now in the same district with Bob Latta (who is from Bowling Green, about 90 miles west of where I live in the west Cleveland suburbs). At least Latta is a lot better than my daughter’s current congresscritter, Marxist Marcy Kaptur (my daughter also lives in a western suburb of Cleveland but is represented by a person from Toledo, over 90 miles west).
