While it is probably that the Uke sources would report civilian losses, the reality is quite different.
Right now the bulk of the regime forces are surrounded in the large metal-processing plant, called Azovstal. There should be no civilians there -- except for possible hostages, but this would not be thousands.
And since this limited area can be dealt with by artillery -- if needed -- it is not likely to take too long.
Now, small pockets of resistance inside the civilian areas -- this would be more complicated if such still exist.
