The real story is censored by Western sources for some reason.
The reporter was not alone. His partner was also shot and there is video of him being treated for gunshot wounds. As he is on the table being treated he tells the story of what happened. How they were passing thru one Ukrainian checkpoint and, as they approached the next one, they both were shot.
