Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is to meet President Joe Biden at a summit Wednesday, has suggested that the hundreds of people arrested for rioting at the U.S. Capitol are being subjected to “persecution for political opinions.”
Putin is likely to come under strong criticism from Biden at their meeting in Geneva for moves against his political opponents in Russia, particularly the imprisonment of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, the detention of thousands of demonstrators protesting his arrest, and the outlawing of Navalny’s organizations as extremist.
“You are presenting it as dissent and intolerance toward dissent in Russia. We view it completely differently,” he said in an interview with NBC News broadcast Monday. He then pointed to the Jan. 6 insurrection in Washington when protesters barged into the Capitol to try to halt the count of electoral votes to certify Biden’s election victory over Donald Trump.
“Do you know that 450 individuals were arrested after entering the Congress? ... They came there with political demands,” he said.

I found Putin a fascinating character on the world stage a number of years ago... He’s not a get along Leader like most European Leaders. Like him or not he has his own perspective on world events and leaders, what he wants for his country and it’s people. He’s most definately an independent thinker.

Putin has done more good for the United States then Obama and Biden put together.
He wiped out Obamas ISIS army in Syria (The shithole forever war that was supposed to happen before they had to settle for the Ukraine), in just 72 hours.
They failed in Syria so now need Ukraine to be the fashionable forever war everyone is talking about.

If Putin thinks he can appease one half of America so Trump will lift sanctions when he returns to power..he is very very wrong.
Four of them killed themselves, and one of the suicides was recently deemed to be in the line of duty. I didn't realize that killing yourself was one of your assigned duties, even if you weren't clocked in. What about the other three cops? If you do it for one, you should do it for all, or it's out-right discrimination. Why is this guy's suicide any different than anyone else's? The story I read was that he committed suicide because of injuries he received, but they never explained what injuries he sustained. That's probably just a bunch of hooey. More than likely, he was suspended pending investigation, along with several others for their actions that day, and killed himself.
Putin helped CREATE Isis. The head of ISIS was Zarqawi, and it’s Intel chief was Saddam General al Douri. Zarqawi and his mostly Egyptian trained terrorist cell that later merged with Mullah Krekar’s Ansar group and with al Douri’s intelligence agency to form ISIS was based in Baghdad in 2002 around the same time as when Russian General Primakov was there advising Saddam Hussein, and while the UN was stalling around trying to buy time for the Russians to fly their stuff out. Primakov fled to Syria at the last minute where, incidentally, Zarqawi also recruited and trained fighters for the organization that would later be renamed ISIS, importing many wannabe fighters from Europe through Damascus.
