This move by Xi is all about destroying American capabilities in Asia. Xi is a land based behemoth but has a very hard time projecting that power with the US Navy surrounding him. Xi will help his proxy, Russia, take out those Far East American carriers. By financing the arms buildup the Russians are starting, he forces NATO (me and you in this case) to counter balance the arms imbalance by borrowing trillions to match him.
