The question is whether the US will allow Ukraine to make concessions. The objective of the war from the US perspective is to remove Putin from power. We want to fight the Russians until the last Ukranian.

Big question: Who pays to rebuild Ukraine?

Good heavens! If Russian-Ukraine hostilities cease, where is our poor beleaguered media going to find their next distraction from America’s senile president and brainless vice president?

They will claim victory and Glory to the Biden Administration!

EU and the US will pay to rebuild Ukraine.

Brandon’s Wall Street donors take a massive hit on Wednesday if Russia defaults on their sovereign debt. So US will allow Ukraine to make the concessions on NATO, Crimea and part of Donbass is my bet in order to save Brandon’s donors.

Putin feeling pressure because of Russia's impending Wednesday, March 16 sovereign debt default.

Russia may be about to stiff foreign bondholders over $20 billion of outstanding debt. What happens after that?

LOL. You guys are delusional.

And maybe Putin will accomplish one more thing:

Maybe the Russian people will decide that they don't need a Tsar to rule over them anymore, that they can rule themselves, and that they will take their place among the free peoples of the world.

Ветер перемен

If Putin agrees to a deal, he will miraculously find the US Dollars needed to pay the interest payment on Wednesday, courtesy of Brandon’s Wall Street donors.

The pressure Putin is feeling IMO is being applied by China who is not happy with this turn of events. They envision Russia as a vassal state of theirs with this event, win or lose. One further point, IF there is some agreement and it was done at the urging of China, I would bet Taiwan, in some fashion, is the chip used by the US.

I would not doubt Zelensky was quietly being hammered by Europe and the US to get real and take Putin’s deal. There was too much for Europe, and the world, for that matter, to lose commercially, economically and financially by waiting for Putin to overrun him. Perhaps, slow Joe, as well as the Europeans, joined Vladimir and retained their own hit men in hunting Zelensky down. lol Zelensky might have caved when they said he can keep his job and everyone will call back their hit men. If there is a peace deal, everyone will try to take the credit.

If there is a peace deal, the people who deserve the credit are the Ukrainian people who took the fight back to the Russians and haven’t given up any meaningful territory to the Russians except for the city Kherson and only because the mayor of Kherson was collaborating with the Russians.

I don’t care who gets credit so long as they end it soon. The reality is the US has no vital national security interest in the conflict and its continuation is hurting the US as well as most nations who have no security interest in it on all levels -economically, financially and commercially. I consider it a decent outcome if Russia gets its security concerns as to neutrality addressed and withdraws and does not occupy the Ukraine which will extend this thing for years

What do you mean that the US would use Taiwan as a chip? It's not ours to give away.

China may be taking a stand for national sovereignty--that Russia should not invade another sovereign country. But since they consider Taiwan to be rightfully part of the PRC, they would feel entitled to invade Taiwan.

Since WWII very few borders have been changed by force. West Germany absorbed East Germany and North Vietnam absorbed South Vietnam, but both divisions were initially seen as temporary. Saddam Hussein tried to annex Kuwait but George Bush forced him to give it up. His earlier attempt to annex part of Iran was a failure. Idi Amin invaded a neighboring country and that led to his own fall from power. Slobodan Milosevic thought he could add parts of Croatia and Bosnia to Serbia but when the dust settled the Tito-era borders remained in place.

Morocco has gotten away with annexing the former Spanish Sahara but no one cares about a remote piece of desert which never was a functioning independent country.

It still isn't clear what Putin's objective is--make all of Ukraine part of Russia? Chop it into bits and let part of it remain independent? Install a pro-Russian regime?
