Russian government wants to control Ukraine & put in a puppet gov’t. He wants to treat Ukraine like he treated Chechnya with two Russian brigades permanently stationed there. Also, nearly half a million people or 40% of Chechnya’s prewar population had been internally displaced and lived in refugee camps or overcrowded villages. This will probably happen to Ukraine with the smashing of infrastructure causing a similar economic downturn for the nation.
Putin is an egomaniac mad-man & re-establish control of the former U.S.S.R dominated nations.
I’m familiar with what transpired in Chechnya - all sides of that equation. They have pretty much recovered from that period of time.
The best any can do is to guess what Putin will or will not do. Ukraine was already in a bad way economically because their governing bodies never get their act together. Everybody knows this.
