AP Poll: Equality concerns rise, but few say voting is too hard

DENVER (AP) — Majorities of Americans in both major parties think voting rules in their states are appropriate and support a voter identification law, but Democrats are increasingly worried about progress in voting rights for Black Americans.

A new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research showed voting was the only one of eight subjects — including education and treatment by police — in which fewer Americans now than four years ago said African Americans had achieved significant progress since the civil rights era. Concern about a lack of progress is much higher for Democrats, 86% of whom believe more must be done to secure racial equality in voting rights, compared with 40% of Republicans.

That’s a reflection of the continuing partisan fight over election procedures that spawned more restrictive laws in 19 GOP-controlled states last year.

Still, even Democrats are fairly happy with the voting laws in their own states — red and blue. About 3 out of 4 Americans think the laws in their states are “about right,” according to the poll.

Indeed, voter identification is the most popular of a series of voting reforms in the poll, with 70% favoring requiring photo identification before casting a ballot. Smaller majorities were in favor of automatic voter registration of eligible citizens and sending mail ballots to all registered voters, two top Democratic priorities. Republicans were more likely than Democrats to support the voter ID law, 87% to 55%.

voting is too hard

Show up, show ID, put your card in the machine select who you want [none of the above deepstate uniparty hacks, can we get a new slate here] and you are done. Checking into a hotel room is a lot harder.

Voting rights - as in: "We have to make sure they vote right!"

Nah, “voting rights” is nothing but subterfuge, a pretext to reduce standards and election integrity so far that the Dems can cheat their way to victory in every future election.

Not long ago, somebody pointed out that if people were truly being denied the right to vote, lawsuits would abound. But there are NO such lawsuits anywhere in the land, so we must conclude “voting rights” is a red herring.

Democrats aren’t “increasingly worried” about anything other than losing power. It’s not a “concern”, it’s a tactic. As their hold on the reins of power becomes more tenuous, their racial demagoguery only increases.

These writers know damn well that identity politics is the centerpiece of the left’s electoral strategy and are quite happy to continue helping the Democrats gaslight Americans.

Voting is super easy when someone else fills out the ballot for you.

Democrats, like the Bolsheviks and the Nazis, only saw democracy as a means to an end to them getting total power.

Why is it any harder for any minority to “go” vote and produce ID than it is for me?

I’ve got 5 government issued photo IDs and I had no problems getting any of them.

It took some time but the slackers found a new word that gets a lot of press time equality.
The media loves to keep the crap pot full.
