I wish someone in a WH press briefing would ask her why we were doing so well right up UNTIL Biden took office...

We’d had Covid for almost a year then; and Putin hadn’t done anything yet.

What changed?

Wasn’t there about 15 Nobel economists saying the same thing? Well, we know the value of Nobel prizes.

It’s Trump’s fault due to the failed Jan 6 insurrection.

I am sure she will be very uncomfortable. Like the poor guy that has to drive 30 miles to his job. So uncomfortable.

I have no idea how economics ever became a science or something in which you could actually be conferred a degree.

The secret to economics is to predict the worst outcome possible.

The majority of people will believe you fervently, every time.

Could this be a contraindication? Or is this her broken clock moment?

I pick door #2.

This anti-Trump mediocrity was yapping about transitory inflation last year...now, not so much.

Yellen: ‘We're Likely to See Another Year’ of ‘Very Uncomfortably High’ 12-Month Inflation Numbers

Soooo.... the inflation that started with installing the illegitimate White House occupant over a year ago will continue for another year - and this is what Yellen and her ilk call TEMPORARY inflation.

Lord, deliver us from the liars in our government!

Where’s the captain obvious guy?

Oil price tripled in a year. Wheat prices at a 14 year high. Corn products up 50%. Palm Oil shortages. Fertilizer prices doubled. Supply chain bottlenecks.

Inflation deep into 2023 guaranteed.

Which will trigger economic stagnation (e.g. StagFlation), maybe social unrest in various places and the cycle continues. But hey, the interest rates will stay low!

There are really two separate components of economics.

Microeconomics covers the basics of how the market works.

True masterpieces on this topic:

https://www.amazon.com/Human-Action-Ludwig-Von-Mises/dp/1614273545

https://www.amazon.com/Man-Economy-State-Murray-Rothbard/dp/0945466323

Macroeconomics is where the computer models (which are totally determined by their input, and are often closer to voodoo) try to figure out what happens after major government intervention in the economy.

If I had to read one book on that subject, it would be another Murray Rothbard classic:

https://www.amazon.com/Power-Market-Government-Murray-Rothbard/dp/0836207513

Once government starts down the road of picking winners and losers in the economy, every market gets wildly distorted and the results start to look a lot like chaos theory.

That is why central planning always turns to disaster.

We're all told to save money for a rainy day. Sorry, you're better off spending the money today because it loses value tomorrow due to Biden inflation. His stimulus packages sure do stimulate runaway inflation. Social unrest is getting worse, f' Biden.

Because they know the customer is frightened enough to pay any price. Once this is over, don’t count on prices going back down.
