Let’s be realistic here. Poland can fly those planes themselves and leave them on some airstrip in Romania or Moldova for Ukraine to pick up if they want to, and Biden can’t stop them. All Biden did was say “no thanks” to the U.S. being the middleman for this transaction.
It’s not being about a middleman. It’s making it clear to Putin that this is a NATO deal and the US is fully in support. Meaning an attack on Poland or Romania will not be tolerated. Putin has already threatened to attack an air field in Poland. Naturally, Poland does not want to be isolated on this issue.
