“Seriously, how do they find people this stupid to run for public office?”
Look to Massachusetts, home to Harvard graduates.
(And Native-American professors—like Liawatha/Princess Spreading-Bull).

All the previous state and federal taxes sure didn’t lower gas prices, how on earth would this one help us?

She is a moron. She’s never run a business so you’ll have to forgive her if she doesn’t realize increased taxes are an expenditure that will be recouped, by increasing prices, at the end day by what every entity she decides to punish as the big bad boogeyman of the day. How about we cut demand Liz? By pumping more than we need?

Let me recall something I heard in the Army, spread out, one grenade will get you all....the good thing about DC is they are all relatively grouped in one spot.

She is partially correct. There should be a tax(tariff) on IMPORTED crude oil making domestic oil even more profitable to produce and refine.

Government taxes on a gallon of gasoline are already nearly as high as what the oil companies charge for producing it. And the government doesn’t do a single thing to produce a gallon of gas. Indeed. Not only that, (speaking of greed) the government doesn’t stop there - - - every single middle class worker who produces gasoline is charged 30% of his or her wages to produce it.
It’s amazing there hasn’t been a general labor strike in this country in well over a hundred years. The government has an answer for that too - stoke continually and in perpetuity, race and gender strife. A disorganized and resentful populace won’t group together to confront tyranny.
Now it’s WWIII and nuclear war over some rumpswab country in Europe half of Americans couldn’t find on a map.
Half the country actually wants Poland to force the US into an actual nuclear war. Hey, as long as Russia incinerates Warsaw first.

The US govt makes more profit per year on student loans than the oil companies. Her priorities are misplaced.

Corporations doing business with the general public do not “pay taxes”. They COLLECT the taxes, and thus relay what is a consumption tax to the taxing authority.
