The way I read that the Poles will sell the jets to NATO. It’s probably cutting hairs at this point but the Poles won’t be the American stooges flying the planes. NATO is NATO though. Going south fast if true.
I read it as they deliver migs, the us delivers F16s, Poland pays some unspecified value difference.

Ramstein Airbase is a US air base in Germany.
Essentially the Poles are saying we are not going to let them go from their country to Ukraine. They are going to become US property instead and the US can start WWIII

I think Poland doesn’t want to get stuck with a multi-billion dollar arms contract with the US, have to retained thousands on new equipment, and lose their ability to have freedom. They don’t want to become a pawn for the US to use to start WW3
Who will fly the Mig-29’s from Germany to Ukraine?
If Ukrainian pilots are allowed into Germany to depart in those fighters, Germany and the U.S. (Ramstein AFB is American) will be declaring war on Russia.
