We overthrew their government in the 1950s and installed a pro-Western puppet; they reversed that in 1979 but we’ve never been at war with them. Thanks for the communist fantasy. In 1953, Iran was a Constitutional Monarchy under Shahanshah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. The coup of 1953, was when the leftist minority government of Mohammad Mosaddegh sided with an Islamist party which had assassinated the last Prime minister to take control of Iran. The Shah dismissed Mossede in 1952, but was forced to accept him as a result of mob violence in the streets. Mossedeg invoked emergency powers and began taking members of the Shah's family hostage in a slow moving coup. In 1953, Mossedeg attempted to become a dictator, with a fake refferendum support of 99.9% to give him the right to make laws without the approval of the parliament. The result was a forceful restoration by the military of the Iranian constitution against this leftist tyrant.
In 1979, Islammists allied with Khomeni attacked the US embassy. This was an act of war and a traditional declaration of war in Islamic countries.
f anything, we killed far more Iranians by arming Iraq to the teeth during their 1980s war - and then Americans had to fight those Iraqis armed with those same US weapons in the early 90s in Gulf War I.
We didn't kill the Iranians. The Iraqis did.
I don’t want a nuclear Iran, but I didn’t want a nuclear Red China, India, or Pakistan either.
We can stop Iran from going nuclear. And all you do is repeat leftist lies and tu quoque fallacies. You are objective pro-nuclear Iran.
