Circumcision is derived from religious practice.
Seems to me that is somewhat of a mark.

(I don’t know, maybe they were going for the hand)

Book says the firstborn are the Lords, they get circumsized.

Well, I suppose that makes it somebodys mark and denotes a very compliant citizenry.

It is also said that ancient Egyptians marked their slaves by circumsision.

Whole lot of dick looking, sounds like to me.

RIP KAL 007 and Congressman Larry McDonald.

I also had a friend on that aircraft.

The thing is that Russia wasn’t an economic basket case. Things were looking up very nicely till about 2014, and since then were more or less stable. Putin did some good things, in fact. Now?

They could certainly win if they exerted all their capacity, but it could not be done in “minutes”. They would have to mobilize, call up the reserve conscripts, get their stuff out of the packing grease, organize that lot, ship them off to the front, build or fix some railroads, round up thousands of trucks, and supplies, fix roads, and etc and etc. And THEN they could swamp the Ukrainians without question.

Now?

Looks like he made a reckless move.

I don’t get it, but nothing shocks me anymore.

The Russians apparently. Their operations in the first three days were certainly an attempt at a coup de main, which failed. Since then they have been trying to make other plans.

General Mud is a thing in Russia/Ukraine. It has always been thus. Ask Napoleon. Ask Hitler.

Trying to land paratroop units (the VDV) on enemy airfields 50 and 100km deep behind the enemy border, far beyond the reach of a relief force, if it had to fight through enemy opposition, tells me that they expected their columns just to drive through and link up in a day or two. Otherwise it was madness to throw away valuable professionals like that.

That was the fate of at least two of the colonels whose deaths the Russians have announced. They were paratroop officers. You dont lose elite units regimental and battalion commanders just like that.

Russia should have already taken these cites yet haven’t.

You really believe that can't? Maybe, just maybe they are trying to avoid civilian casualties.

Don’t believe anyone’s published numbers.

But Russia did basically ask for a status quo peace yesterday.

I think you should be glad that Russia has lost.

That fulfills your number one priority: Americans should not fight in other countries.

I think Russians need a new leader and a better form of government.

That was true even when the Cold War ended. Their oligarchs thought they could hoodwink us by ‘electing’ dictators like Putin.

That is not how the world works best. Russia can do better in the same way Ukraine has gradually done better by having actual elections.

As here, sometimes you get good leaders and sometimes you don’t. Russia needs to stop being a dictatorship. Same thing is true for Iran, North Korea and other stupid dictatorships.

I am happy for the Russian people to have a better life with better government
