“Diesel only became higher than gasoline when the ultra-low sulfur requirements went into place”
They were supposed to get more Sulfur outta gas too. Did that happen or not?
When I bought my Diesel cars Diesel was cheaper than gas.
I work in the refineries as a contract employee and travel all over.
The refineries ALL had to build multiple units at a cost of half a billion or so for each refinery. These operate at a cost of electrical power, cost of operating personnel and are very expensive to maintain. To continue to turn a profit and stay in business, the only choice was to raise the price.
Refineries think 8% is a good anual profit. Amazon and Microsoft make over 30% every year...
