I have Hashimotos also...but still have my thyroid.

I wasn't diagnosed until after the removal and biopsy. The surgery wasn't much of an option b/c they thought I had thyroid cancer. Fortunately that was not the case.

I still struggled with having it removed, but it ended up working out fine :)
