A key ally of Vladimir Putin has called for a blitzkrieg of savagery to be unleashed in Ukraine to force a surrender 'within a day or two'.
Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Chechnya who holds the rank of Major-General in the Russian National Guard and whose forces are deployed in Ukraine, is urging the despot to bombard Ukraine into submission to spare further Russian losses.
He told Putin to 'shut your eyes to everything, and allow us to finish it all'.

In an audio message to Putin, the 45-year-old said: 'Comrade President, Comrade Supreme Commander - I have said multiple times that I am your humble footman, that I am ready to give my life for you.
'But I cannot keep looking at my - and our - fighters dying, our defence ministry forces, national guards and others…
'I am strongly asking you to shut your eyes to everything, and allow us to finish it all within a day or two.

that's not going to help morale with Russian troops
On the day another Chechen named Tsarnaev had his death penalty reinstated by ther SCOTUS. They are bloodthirsty and Putin better ignore their advice.

I suspect he also wants to take not only the capitol but the whole country as in tact as possible....not gonna do any good to plant his flag over a bunch of rubble.....that wouldmean more money Russia already doesn’t have to rebuild.
Depends on Putin’s objective. Does he want to take possession of a burnt out husk of a country with no means to support itself, and end up a huge burden to Russia? Does he want the sanctions to continue being imposed to the end of time? Does he want find himself and all fellow Russian plurocrats unable to take a step outside of Russia without being captured and put on trial for war crimes?

People seem to be forgetting this part - there’s no status quo antebellum for Putin. Even if he ‘wins’ Ukraine, he’s lost far too much in the process.
Putin is toast - he just doesn’t know it yet.
It worked in Georgia, Ukraine I, Chechnea, and Crimea.

I agree. None of this makes sense. Ukraine is extremely poor and hopelessly corrupt. They have some natural resources but little infrastructure to mine and export them. Even if Russia takes it over it will be a severe drain on their economy. This is the very reason that the EU has postponed accepting their membership.
My guess is that Putin has gone mad and it is just a matter of time before he is done.

This reminds me of the scene in “The Patriot” where Col Tavington proposes to Cornwallis that the General turn a blind eye to terrorist tactics, letting the Colonel take the blame in exchange for lands in the new world.
