This is why I have no desire to ever visit that country again. My cousins in Napa wanted to have a family reunion last summer there. I told them I’d love to get together, but I won’t be visiting California.

My 50th HS reunion is later this year. My original inclination was a "maybe", but I've regained my senses. I've stayed in contact with NO ONE since graduation, save for a couple of brief emails.

The operative question is, "why would I travel 2000 miles to spend half a day with people that treated me like a pariah my last two months of high school? Nah, that would be stupid. I committed the crime of accepting an Army ROTC scholarship...there were teachers that said straight to my face how "disappointed" they were with my decision.

As much as I'd like to go back and give them all a big FU, it's not worth it. I had forgotten about CA's governmental edicts, too.
