Ever been to a cat show?
Every one we’ve ever been to has been full to the brim with flaming lefties doing the exhibiting.
We felt for the cats.

Not much better at an AKC dog show - but maybe not as bad. Never made it to a CFA.
Horse people are more sensible. They’re not mere pets, and the respect the animal because they know the animal can kill them - so they tend to be more sensible and more “conservative”. Dog people (lovers, esp. the pet kind more than the show kind) don’t respect that the average dog can kill them.
Cats - fat chance they’ll ever kill anyone, so I guess most fanciers are pretty liberal.
