Sympathetic Russian agents allegedly tipped Ukraine off about the plot
A Ukrainian defense official announced this week that a kill squad sent to assassinate President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had been "eliminated" by the country's armed forces, according to a Telegram post from Ukrainian authorities.
Oleksiy Danilov, chief of the country's National Security and Defense Council, reportedly said during a briefing on Tuesday that Ukrainian officials had recently been made aware of a "special operation" that was to be carried out against Zelenskyy by an elite Chechen special forces unit, known as the Kadyrovites.
The Kadyrovites are a highly-skilled paramilitary organization in Chechnya, a semiautonomous republic in Russia, that often carry out violence at Russian President Vladimir Putin's request. According to National Review, they are accused of a number of human rights violations and abuses.
Danilov said Ukrainian leaders were tipped off about the assassination plot by a group of sympathetic Russian agents with the enemy country's Federal Security Service.
"We are well aware of the special operation that was to take place directly by the Kadyrovites to eliminate our president. And I can say that we have received information from the FSB, who today do not want to take part in this bloody war. And thanks to this, I can say that Kadyrov's elite group was destroyed directly, which came here to eliminate our president," Danilov said, according to a Google translation of the Telegram.
The Ukrainian leader went on to say that the Kadyrovite group had been divided in two, with one being destroyed in Gostomel, near Kyiv, while the other was "under fire."
The Washington Post reported that Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov confirmed on Monday in a Telegram post that two of his servicemen had died while six others were injured during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. However, neither the Chechens nor the Kremlin has attributed the losses to a foiled assassination attempt.
Since the launch of the invasion, Zelenskyy has claimed that Russian forces designated him and his family as top targets in the offensive and that Russian kill squads were actively seeking to assassinate him. Nevertheless, he vowed to remain in the capital, Kyiv, and stand alongside his people.
Even when the U.S. government reportedly offered to evacuate Zelenskyy out of harm's way, the president stood by his decision to stay.
"The fight is here; I need ammunition, not a ride," an "upbeat" Zelenskyy declared in response to the offer, according to a senior U.S. intelligence official.
“Stop sending people to kill me. We’ve already captured five of them, one of them with a bomb and another with a rifle… If you don’t stop sending killers, I’ll send one to Moscow, and I won’t have to send another.”

At this point Ukrainians will say pretty much anything that will keep their moral going and give them hope.
There is no way the Ukrainians would throw sympathetic FSB agents under the bus, they said they were tipped off to cause turmoil in the Russian security services.
Could be, I pretty much assume every story has a greater than 50/50 chance of being Fake News.

As Stalin was absolutely terrified of assassination attempts I think that was probably very effective.

Tito had brass ones, I will say that.

Haven’t been following India’s position but India’s part of the Economic cabal over there with Russia China and Asian groups....so I’m not surprised really. Putin must have given them some sort of assurances prior.

I heard the “babushka brigade” did it.
Grandma had an AK-47 in one hand & a Molotov Cocktail in the other, while hauling a javelin missile to a Ukrainian “kill zone.”
The Russians are “Kaput” with this kind of resistance.
I wonder if Zelensky is even in Kiev, the rumor is he’s actually in Lvov near the Polish border. They are trying to pump up this guy as some kind of hero. The guy who shunned serious negotiation and intentionally leading them into a war they have no hope of winning, and which will leave their country in shambles.
These assassins were Chechen, with deep personal loyalty to Putin.
If you are a Russian general who thinks you can do a better job that Vlad, getting his personal bodyguard eliminated would be a good first move.
> India is backing Russia to the hilt <
I didn’t know that. But it doesn’t surprise me. India is very wary of China, and Russia makes a good ally in that regard. On the other hand, Ukraine can do nothing for India one way or the other.
So I suppose India is just putting India first. Can’t really fault them too much for that.
What assassins? It’s propaganda.
Jimmy Kimmel won’t be the leader of Ukraine much longer.
Just watch, as Ukrainian “freedom fighters” start to jump ship.
Zelensky will be one of the first rats to bail.
If China is the No.1 geo political risk to the U.S, than India has to be courted more by the U.S, not sent packing diplomatically in some tantrum over Ukraine. India is far more important to America’s future than Ukraine.
One school of thought says Stalin was poisoned by Beria. But some people thinks it was Tito, and not Beria, who did the deed. So maybe Stalin didn’t take that letter as seriously as he should.
