I'd imagine that these oligarchs are some pretty mean cats. I'd also imagine that they are not going to take the seizures of their assets lightly.
They certainly have the resources and capabilities to spawn militia/terrorists groups to create havoc just about anywhere in the world.
Those would not be state actions, either, it would just be the actions of a political or ideological group.

So, Putin got his out in time…

Typical democrat idea to stop the war. Steal money from them. These rich guys might be jerks and probably crooks but they did not start the war.

Ran Gazprom for a decade, is mega-rich by any standards. He will probably retaliate. He’s certainly not used to getting shoved around and certainly will not put pressure on Putin.

Gone, whether you are a Canadian trucker, Russian Oligarch, or Jan 6 protestor. It’s just gone, the law means whatever they say it means.

I don’t think these guys got wealthy by being nice.

In any case, it sounds like stealing from a private citizen. The Nazis Germans have a long history of this. Don't know if they have the fortitude to carry it through anymore. The EU has been dependent on a strong US force for so long, I don't know if they realize that they are writing checks they can't cash.

The article doesn't say WHY Germany confiscated the yacht. Is it just cuz he's Russian? No due process?
The Dims in America salivate over that kind of power.

Did anyone take any NATO billionaire’s yacht after the disaster in Libya?
To: BusterDog
To: ProtectOurFreedom
He’s not the only Russian billionaire with a mega-yacht: Forbes and yacht valuation experts VesselsValue tracked down 32 of them. Despite being hit by EU sanctions on Monday, Usmanov is yet to comment on them or on the war in Ukraine.

Well they are more than acquainted with how Putin operates when many got kicked out of Russia when he first took office...some didn’t make it. Others were taken down after they left. So they know his ‘reach’ if they give him a hard time.
