East of the Dnieper is not a third of Ukraine as Col MacGregor suggests, it is about half

And the Russians are not limiting their occupation effort to east of the Dnieper, they are trying to take the entire Baltic coastline and central Ukraine west of the Dniepr

If we suppose that the four military districts into which Russia has divided Ukraine were designed for not just military but political significance, which seems likely, the buffer state Putin imagines between Poland and Russia's new Ukrainian provinces is quite small

Russia has larger territorial designs than Col MacGregor is supposing

The line north from Moldova on Lukashenko’s map is approximately the old Russian and Austro-Hungarian border.

A likely outcome is that the part east of the line will be a Russian puppet state and the part west of the line will be a non-NATO EU state, like Finland.

Note that lots of people are moving to Lviv (Lemberg) which was the center of that Austro-Hungarian province. It is also the part that is more Catholic than Orthodox.

I think Putin might be going for a land corridor to the breakaway mostly Russian enclave of Transnistria, cotting Ukraine from the sea completely unless Ukraine gives in to all of Russia’s demands. That’s why I say the Ukrainians are clueless idiots who are just being played by the globalist powers. They will wind up with nothing from this.

Baltic coastline? You mean just NATO members Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, or Finland and Sweden also?

I’d hardly be surprised if they’re focusing on the Donbas, Kyiv and Kharkiv FIRST before trying to take the rest of Ukraine, but as a matter of fact, their actions against Western Ukraine so far consist solely of bombing airfields.
