Experts: Ukrainian resistance 'remarkable' but Russia still holds major advantage
FOX ^ | 2/28/2022 | Rebecca Rosenberg

Ukrainian forces have pulled off an extraordinary feat in holding off Russian forces for days, but President Vladimir Putin’s superior manpower and weaponry will likely triumph at a substantial cost to the autocratic leader and his people, experts told Fox News Digital.

"It is nothing short of remarkable what the Ukrainian military has accomplished," said U.S. Army Gen. Jack Keane, who serves as chairman of the Institute for the Study of War.

"But I think despite the fierceness of the Ukrainian resistance, they are overmatched by the Russians, and the Russians will eventually prevail," Keane predicted.

Neither side is on the side of the angels but this “military exercise” needs to end asap.

What this will do is engender a lot more hatred between the Ukrainians and Russians. Expect Ukraine to possibly expel large numbers of Russians after the Russian occupation forces eventually draw down.

You can expect a lot of countries to deport anyone holding a Russian passport. As well they should.

Of course the Ukrainians are outgunned. But they seem to be eager to fight and with all the thousands of anti-tank missiles and anti-aircraft stingers, being sent to the from the EU, US, etc this may turn into a slug fest. They are now even going to transfer fighter aircraft(Migs) to the Ukrainians.

This may be the first honest assessment we have seen in a week. I just don’t see Putin allowing a defeat here. He will do whatever it takes unless he is removed.

“Jack Keane is an old school Deep Stater. Not buying what he’s selling.”

He is a Deep Stater but he’s not alone in his thinking on this one. Biden’s ‘play it down the middle’ strategy is making the war longer and worse for Ukraine.

I agree, this conflict looks like it’s turning into a war of attrition and that’s really bad for Ukraine. Russian cities aren’t burning and Russian citizens don’t have women on the front lines. Russians aren’t having to flee their country.

Biden is assisting in a slow-motion slaughter of Ukraine.

Not yet, and hopefully the war ends before the Ukrainians have to resort to asymmetrical warfare techniques.

I’m surprises they didn’t have some old SCUDs or such to fire at Russia. Even old Saddam was able to pull that off with mobile transporters hidden under bridges, tents, tunnels, etc.

Other than the technological parts of your post, exactly the same thing could have been said about the Brits in this country during the Revolutionary War. We wanted our freedom badly enough to outlast them, despite enormous cost in blood and treasure.

200,000 Russian troops are not going to be able to peacefully rule 45 million pissed off Ukrainians...and many of the latter are supremely pissed off at Russia because of the loss of homes, businesses and loved ones. Stalin’s Red Army (arguable not the most subtle instrument ever invented by Mankind) fought for roughly 11 years after WW2 to put down Ukrainian resistance, and they had LOTS more men and material than Putin, and no outside aid to the Ukrainians.

Another factor that is similar to the Revolutionary War is that the Ukrainians by and large speak the same language as the Russians, which opens up all kinds of opportunities for spying, sabotage and long-term resistance. This hasn’t been, and won’t be, a cakewalk for Russia.

Ukraine already owns them anyways!

Western leaders and media continue to encourage Ukraine to throw as much meat as possible into the grinder.

Pumping them with false hope.

It’s criminal.

Point of fact. The Russian forces have had little contact with the Ukrainian army. They have mostly gone about their mission of clearing the neo Nazi mercenaries who protect NWO operations out of the Donbas region. They have destroyed the Ukrainian fuel dumps and knocked out their radar. The Ukrainian military has no fuel or air support. They are now making an orderly retreat as the Russian forces continue mostly mop up operations.

Meanwhile the MSM who are the NWO mouth pieces go about their business of whipping the public into an hysterical frenzy.

I don’t think Russia can appear to be weak to an untrustworthy China on it’s border having ten times Russia’s population and a rapidly expanding military.
