Belarus is preparing to join Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a US official tells The Washington Post.
The move could come as soon as tomorrow, the official says.
“It’s very clear Minsk is now an extension of the Kremlin,” the official says.

“The Russian Ruble sank to a new all-time low, trading at 117.62 RUB/USD. Since Jan. 1, 2022, the ruble has depreciated by as much as 47.33% against the USD. Conflict in Eastern Europe is fueling the currency’s destruction. At present, I measure Russia’s inflation at 69.4%/yr.”
Minsk is like 300 miles from Kyiv. A couople hours drive from Vilnius. I’m sure the crazies in Belarus will happily kill some Ukrainians but most of their soldiers will not be hot on this idea. And civilians will be disgusted. This move is massively destabilizing for the regime in Belarus and reeks of desperation from Putin.
If they’re not careful, this will soon go on auto pilot, ie, WWI where all countries chose up sides. This business will get out of control and we’ll...

This certainly increases the chances of this conflict getting out of control if a third party enters.

Previous deliveries was from the Baltic countries.

Fully agree on this autopilot concept. And eastern Europeans are in the drivers seat because of our weak leader. Poles or others will drag NATO in... then it can get very bad.
Russia has taken about 1/6 of Ukraine, according to the maps on Fox News and elsewhere I’ve seen, so it may be 1/5.
I think Russia thought they would be doing better.
Was watching Bloomberg TV earlier to see how markets are doing.
They had a report that an Aeroflot plane had entered Canadian airspace after being blocked from Canada’s airspace.
Haven’t seen any print stories on it yet.
Wonder if Trudeau will invoke some “emergency” powers to seize the plane. Honk Honk.
