I do agree this is very late in the game. Those Stingers should have been close to Ukraine’s’ border before the big wave of Russian troops went in. After all, we are told our intel knew about this invasion well in advance, no? (And the intel was correct.)
I do think they find out but don’t make it easier for them. I think they will be useless once the Russians really start engaging their thermobaric and hypersonic capabilities into the fray.
