Paul tells us in Ephesians that we “sit together in heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 2:6) - so there is a very real spiritual sense in which we are already in Heaven when we know the Lord as our Saviour. Your wife is now physically there in glory, present with her Lord - though absent from her earthly loves.
At the same time, you are in heaven with her even now and one of our greatest joys in life is that we will see our loved ones again.
One day you’ll see her again as I will one day see my earthly love . . . but we can have comfort in the fact that we are both already there - maybe even having fellowship!
It’ll hurt for about four years before the pain of separation begins to wane - but she’ll still be with you in your memories. Like the rose the lady gave me when they came to gather up her remains, says: “When a loved one becomes a memory - that memory becomes a treasure.”
Incredible that I took so long to reply to you. I read your message over and over but I’m slowed down by grief and can’t do things normally. Sorry.
And informing the doctors and the dentist and others one by one brought it all back. I haven’t done the state and Soc.Sec. and banking and other stuff yet. Guess I wait for the death certificates the funeral director told me he is sending. So creepy.
I have read so many of your Proverbs posts and your comments that I feel like you are true FRiend.
Thanks
