Putins is behaving quite rationally, and the US screwed up royally pushing corrupt Ukraine to join NATO. Putin told them what he would do if they (US, Ukraine) didn’t back off.

Ukraine is not a NATO member. They are not scheduled to be a NATO member. All NATO members must first =ASK= to join NATO and must be =unanimously accepted= before they can join. Ukraine’s request to join was turned down by France and Germany in 2008.
