I'm totally fine with stopping Russian ammo imports and meeting that demand with domestic production. Seems to me like subsidizing Russian ammo manufacturing capability rather than our own wasn't a good idea from the jump.

I'm willing to pay a few extra cents a round to make that happen.

And the Marxist Lefties you are helping out, are totally fine with suing domestic ammunition manufacturers out of business with the support you have just given them.

Isn't that patriotic of you!

From your statement I am assuming that the highest caliber firearm you own is a BB gun. For instance, the difference between Wolf and domestic brands for 7.62×39mm has been far more than “a few extra cents a round” recently. Wolf and the other Russian brands have been around $.35 a round compared $2.00 a round or more for Remington if you could even find it. And that is the real goal here. In the calibers we are talking about domestic companies don't even make it for the most part.

And I don't even keep track of such things very closely since I reload most of my 7.62×39mm and Nagant handgun ammo. Of course, I have a bunch of corrosive berdan primed spam cans stockpiled for Armageddon but that is another story.

“I’m totally fine with stopping Russian ammo imports and meeting that demand with domestic production. Seems to me like subsidizing Russian ammo manufacturing capability rather than our own wasn’t a good idea from the jump.

It not just a few extra cents per round.
The big problem is there isn’t enough American capacity to meet the demand.
American companies are un-willing to spend the money to meet the market demands which can be quite cyclic and subject to the political cycles eg Democrats are very good gun and ammo salesmen.
Bush 1, killed off Chinese ammo sales and now Biden has chopped Russian ammo sales.
We are now short on ammo.
Get the idea? RINOs and Democrats want us disarmed.
Interesting that in Ukraine the first thing they did was start to hand out guns to civilians and tech them how to make Molotov cocktails.
What is the chance a Democrat or GOPe government would do that?
